does not collapse with at least a 2500 Gpm pump, even when the hose does not stay straight. (some claim the suction makes it collapse)common sense, if you make sure it does not kink as you pull hard, it wont tare or separate with time.for 16 dollars I have absolutely no complaints and does very well for at least a 14 foot above ground pool. Fl sun has not dried it out. ( 3 month later)*****Less than 24 hour later update...one flaw and you can decide if you want to spend a few bucks more for a better quality hose.hose it self is excellent, however in less than 24 hours later I could not understand why there was air being introduced inside the pump. I noticed what another customer tried to tell us, (with a picture). the end tip splits open and air gets introduced, on the pump side, not the side i had inside the pool with the suction sweeper.All I did was let it dry, krazy glue the split side then duct tape it with krazy glue. the side i had to correct is inside the pool with the sweeper (today is october 4th 2019 and going perfectly strong). the side that did not split, i still duct tape it with krazy glue and hooked it up on the pump side, for prevention. again here is october 4th and the hose is used on a daily bases without one issue, not dried out or anything, and FL sun gets hot...January 11th, 2020. Hose still works flawlessly.Still good with this hose. Barely lost some color. 2021 :)Still using it. Handles chrorine well. August 25, 2021. For real
