This happened at another house and we needed everything out as we were closing in a couple weeks. The realtor suggested caps. They worked fine but were a pain to find even in the hardware store.These fit standard washing machine water lines. Each cap had two washers inside, two different colors. I only needed one washer so I used a different color for hot and cold. That was just a surprise for the new owner. They were very easy to use, easy to place on. We have a few left for other projects. The case makes them easy to find.i used it on my leaky hot water drain valve. no more leaks. i used the plumbers tape that came with it too.It works, I have no idea why, but every single outdoor fixture I have at my house leaks, I don't know if the builder just used a bad batch or what, but I've tightened them up and repacked the threads and snugged down the packing nuts tight and they still leak, yea, I could spend the better part of a day, trying to break loose 4 40-year-old connections, but frankly I don't care that much as I don't use them hardly ever. These work perfectly, I screwed them on snug, give them a about a quarter turn with a pair of pliers and I now have zero leaks. Paid for themselves in a month. Recommended for anyone lazy or doesn't want to hire a plumber or repair an infrequently used spigot.I use brass when it is available, I love the o-rings that came with them Thank You for the Sweet touch. It is nice to have a stop at the end of lawn equipment devices that need to be drip free. New landscaping puddles of water at junctions and endings are on my get it fixed list. These caps + o-rings solved a few problems I was having with the end of the of old hoses. Some are old soaker hoses that never came with a caps.
